Health crises have become recurrent worldwide. In this context, ensuring food safety and traceability has become essential to reassure consumers and ensure the quality of food and products.

For this reason, we are now experiencing a gradual toughening of legislation in all countries worldwide. This regulatory tightening mainly pursues two complementary objectives:

  • provide increasing quantities of information about food products (safety and quality)
  • better identify and trace causes in case of a problem or health crisis (traceability)

All of these precautions are intended to protect consumers and meet their growing demands for information and transparency on the intrinsic properties and nutritional values of food products.

Neovia is aware of its responsibility towards its customers and final consumers, therefore it has placed traceability and safety at the heart of its corporate priorities. In this context, the company has implemented a process monitoring the quality of raw materials for many years.  In particular, the company has a team entirely dedicated to the compliance of raw materials and products delivered by suppliers which are used in its production cycle.

Similarly, Neovia has implemented health control plans on all of the Group’s production and distribution sites. In parallel, the computerised control of production facilities ensures the traceability of each production site and provides Neovia with detailed monitoring of the quality of its products at each stage of the manufacturing cycle.

Thanks to this strong expertise in traceability and food safety which Neovia gained many years ago, it has made its analysis laboratories one of the seven core businesses in its full service offer.

Neovia’s analysis laboratory business, in particular through the Upscience trademark, aims at ensuring the safety, traceability, and quality of the products of the Company’s subsidiaries as well as external customers.

Neovia’s analysis laboratories conduct physicochemical and microbiological analyses in the field of food processing (food and feed). They also have a strong expertise in molecular biology. In the same time they provide services in the following analysis segments: nutraceutics, cosmetics, pharmaceutics, etc.

Neovia’s analysis laboratories (6 analysis laboratories worldwide) systematically control raw materials and finished products. Control services concern both pathogenic contaminants (salmonella, listeria, etc.) and chemical contaminants (heavy metals and mycotoxins).

In total, Neovia’s analysis laboratories conduct over 2 million tests per year.
